Hey there! My name is Vanessa Howse and I am a Clinical Psychologist at YLO Psychology Clinic. I hold a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology and I am a Member of the Australian Psychological Society. I have 14 years’ experience working with children, adolescents and families across the community and private sectors. I have worked for many years providing intervention to traumatised and at-risk youth and as such hold a wealth of knowledge regarding trauma, anxiety, depression, complex behavioural presentations, attachment, self-harm, suicidal ideation and family systems under stress. I have experience providing therapy through a variety of means including online, telephone and face-to-face counselling.
At YLO Psychology Clinic I work with a number of issues facing children, adolescents and families that include: anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD, child-parent conflict, challenging behaviour effecting school and home, adjustment difficulties due to parental separation/divorce, and parenting skill development.
When working with my clients I ensure that I provide effective, research based intervention that is tailored to the individual client in a way that is fun and engaging. It is important to me in my work to work with the whole family system in effecting change for the client. Alongside individual therapy, I am also experienced in both family and group therapy. I am accredited in the delivery of training programs including: Triple P, Circle of Security and Secret Agent Society.
I love to learn and keep up-to-date by engaging in regular professional development activities to ensure I am delivering best practice to my clients.
